To clarify the situation, the Ministry of Agriculture invited farmers to notify the Rural Support Service (hereinafter referred to as RSS) in the Electronic Application System (hereinafter referred to as EAS) or mobile app about areas affected by adverse climatic conditions.
As the situation did not improve in July and the harvest season has begun, the Ministry of Agriculture has ensured that the EAS or mobile app reporting functionality for damage caused by exceptional circumstances is operating continuously so that persons affected by emergency circumstances can provide information to the RSS on an ongoing and operational basis.
By 25 August 2025, the Rural Support Service had been notified of 78 507 ha of damaged or unseeded agricultural land, with total estimated provisional losses amounting to EUR 92,62 million:
- by the date, 76 187 ha of agricultural crops (cereals, oilseeds, legumes, grassland, fruit and vegetables) had been damaged by heavy rainfall, with winter wheat, perennial grassland, oats, peas and spring wheat crops suffering the most damage. The total provisional losses amount to EUR 70,13 million;
- by the date, 2 320 hectares of fruit crops had been damaged by spring frosts, with currants, apples, blueberries, sea buckthorn and pears being the most affected. The total provisional losses amount to EUR 22,49 million.
