The Ministry of Agriculture is implementing the State policy in the area of veterinary medicinal products, organizing development of the legislation, regulating the chain of veterinary medicinal products (the placing on the market, manufacture, import, export, supply, pharmacovigilance, control and the use of veterinary medicinal products), and monitoring and control in compliance with the relevant legislation.

The Food and Veterinary Service carries out evaluation and registration of veterinary medicinal products in compliance with requirements of regulatory acts.

The Food and Veterinary Service ensures monitoring of the chain of veterinary medicinal products in compliance with requirements of regulatory acts.

Revision of the legislation on veterinary medicinal products in EU. EU proposal in the area of veterinary medicinal products has been prepared with a view to simplify the legislation, harmonize implementation of requirements of the legislation on the common EU market and to reduce administrative burden. The proposal will refer to all the operators involved in the chain of veterinary drugs:  the State institutions, animal health industry, owners of agricultural and pet animals, consumers of animal products, veterinarians and distributors of veterinary medicinal products.
